Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi says that the coronavirus pandemic will hit its peak in the country during months of May and June.
According to Foreign Minister Qureshi Pakistan is yet to hit its peak of reported coronavirus cases and these numbers are expected to climb during the coming months of May and June.

He expressed his concern that all strategies regarding the matter should be formulated based on these factors since Pakistan doesn’t have the resources to survive to a long lockdown.
The Sindh Health Minister Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho also said that the coming months of May and June are expected to increase the number of reported cases in the country and that easing the lockdown measure could lead to disastrous consequences.
The total cases of coronavirus in Pakistan has already surged past 10,000 while the death toll has reached 212. All provinces are working on increasing their daily testing capacities.
Lockdown has been extended until 30 April however, Balochistan has issued a notification extending the locking till 5 May 2020 due to the surge in cases. It is unclear at this point whether the federal government will do the same countrywide.
