The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad Hamza Shafqaat has imposed a fine on himself after a journalist pointed out that he wasn’t wearing a face mask while in public.
Journalist Bashir Chaudhry took to Twitter highlighting the fact that the DC Islamabad was surrounded by people and not wearing a face mask which goes against the rules during this pandemic.
However, the official responded to the journalist pointing out that he only took off the mask for minute but the point has been taken and the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad will be submitting a fine of Rs. 1,000 to the government account.
Furthermore, he states that he will be showing the challan on Twitter after paying the Rs. 1,000 fine as confirmation.
The Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Hamza Shafqaat had issued a notification earlier mandating that a face mask is to be worn by everyone leaving their homes and also stated that violators may be arrested by police.
