RAWALPINDI: A tragic and violent confrontation rocked Bahria Town Phase 3, Rawalpindi, late Tuesday night, claiming four lives and leaving three others wounded.
The deadly shootout, which unfolded around 9:30 PM, erupted from a heated family dispute over a marriage decision.
CCTV cameras positioned around the area captured the chaotic scene as it unfolded.
The chaos began when Naveed, a local resident originally hailing from Azad Kashmir, clashed with his sister over her choice to marry Shehzad, a decision he fiercely opposed. Fueled by anger, Naveed pulled out a gun and opened fire, killing two of Shehzad’s friends who were with him at the time.
The situation got out of control as Shehzad’s group retaliated, turning their weapons on Naveed and fatally shooting him in the exchange.
Police have cordoned off the scene and launched a full investigation into the bloodshed. Three others caught in the crossfire sustained injuries and were rushed to nearby hospitals, though their conditions remain unclear. Residents of the usually peaceful neighborhood are reeling from the incident, which has shattered the calm of this upscale community.
Authorities have promised more details as the investigation unfolds, but for now, the senseless loss of life has left many in shock and mourning.
