Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority will be closing several roads in the city, including, sections of Umm Suqeim Street, Jumeirah Beach Road, and Al Wasl Road on Sunday from early morning until 1 pm to make way for The Dubai Marathon.
The Dubai Marathon is scheduled between 6 am to 1 pm, offering an opportunity for people who want to participate in the first and oldest international marathon events in the Middle East.

RTA has shared a video of the marathon route, which starts on Umm Suqeim Road near Dubai Police Academy and ends there as well. This 42.195km long route consists of Jumeirah Beach Road where runners can enjoy the iconic views such as Burj Al Arab and Madinat properties.
Apart from the competitive marathon, there are also elite and amateur runners in 10km category as well as a 4km event for beginners and hobbyists. The Dubai Marathon 2024 is an event sanctioned by the Dubai Sports Council, and participants will come from international top athletes through to rising stars as well both debutant runners. The relatively flat course means some quick times from both elite and regular runners.
