Dubai Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has announced Eid Al-Fitr holidays for schools, universities, and nurseries from April 8 to April 14, 2024. According to the details, classes will resume on April 15, making it a nine-day holiday for students, including the regular weekend.
Eid Al Fitr falls on the first day of Shawwal in the Islamic calendar, following Ramadan, which lasts 29 or 30 days depending on the Moon sighting.
Indian-curriculum schools in Dubai reopened on April 1 but will soon close again for Eid holidays starting April 6, 2024. Meanwhile, students in international curriculum schools have been on a three-week spring break since March 25 and will return to classes on April 15 after the Eid holidays.
Private sector employees across the UAE will also have holidays for Eid Al Fitr, starting on April 8 and lasting until 3 Shawwal, according to the Islamic calendar.
