A 5.5-magnitude earthquake struck 51 kilometers south of Jurm, Afghanistan, sending tremors through various areas of Pakistan, including Malakand, Swat, Mingora, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Peshawar.
According to the intial reports, The tremors were felt in twin cities (Islamabad and Rawalpindi) however, the intensity was higher in Malakand, Swat and Peshawar.
The quake, which occurred at 18:56 UTC, had a depth of 181 kilometers, according to GFZ reports.
In Pakistan, residents in affected areas reported feeling the tremors, causing panic but with no immediate reports of damage or casualties.
People in the region rushed out of their homes, fearing aftershocks. Emergency services are on alert, and authorities are closely monitoring the situation.
