ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan visited the Ehsaas Kafaalat payment site today in Islamabad disbursements for July to December 2020 have been initiated and will be carried out in phases.
Ehsaas Kafaalat Phase I
The Ehsaas Kafaalat Phase 1 payments have started from today (27th November 2020) and according to estimates over 4.3 million women beneficiaries will will benefit from this scheme.
Furthermore, the beneficiaries being payed during this phase (July to December 2020) will receive payment for the six months with a lump sum of Rs.12,000. Additional beneficiaries will be paid December onwards and the process will be continued in the next year as well.
The official PTI twitter account has informed that the special assistant to Prime Minister Sania Nishtar will be briefing the Prime Minister Imran Khan about the measures taken to improve the quality of payments and to ensure protection against cyber-attacks.
The Prime Minister will also be shown the trial run of the operations of “Ehsaas One Woman One Bank Account”. From next year onwards, Ehsaas Kafaalat beneficiaries will have the option of either drawing their money or saving money into digital wallets.
Ehsaas Kafaalat Program
The Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Sania Nishtar has been actively working for the people of Pakistan in particularly towards poverty alleviation. Recently Dr. Sania Nishtar was named among the list of BBC’s Top 100 inspiring women in the world.
Dr. Sania Nishtar has been tirelessly working towards the welfare of the people of this country. She keeps everyone updated on her progress of the projects. She had informed through her tweet that the partnering banks Habib Bank and Bank AlFalah been conducting technical training of their retail agents to execute digital payments to Ehsaas beneficiaries.
In another tweet she she also updated about the preparations for the Ehsaas Kafaalat cash transfer. She wrote:
In preparation for the #EhsaasKafaalat cash transfers, we held a consultation with our field staff this morning. It is critical to ensure all #SOPs are followed with regard to #COVID19 and deliver quantum change in relation to the quality of #CashTransfers.
