First Ehsaas Nashonuma center opened in District Upper Dir

ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Dr. Sania Nishtar has announced the opening of First Ehsaas Nashonuma center.

The first center is opened in District Upper Dir, this is the first of the 33 centers of Ehsaas Nashonuma, a new Ehsaas nutrition and health condition cash transfer program.

What is Ehsaas Nashonuma

Ehsaas Nashonuma program is a conditional cash transfer program, specifically designed to prevent stunting in children.

Under this program 33 centers will start operating in 9 districts.The World Food Programme is its implementing partner.

This program is an initiation to prevent the stunting among the children.

Many facilities will be made available for the women and their children in each center. They will be facilitated with customer registration, mediacal examination, awareness session, healthy food, ATM machines for delivery of cash benefits and health and development of registered consumers.

Every Ehsaas Nashonuma center will have separate desks and rooms for registration, awareness creation, compliance monitoring, check-up, and anthropometry, in addition to an ATM for cash withdrawal.

Healthy supplements will be provided

Under this development program, packets of health supplements will also be provided to pregnant and lactating women and their children under the age of two years.

The centers will be keeping a regular record of delivery and distribution of stock of health food packets for the sack of transparency of the program.

Information charts and posters

Special information charts and posters on food and health and hygiene for women and their children have also been compiled for the benefit of women benefiting from the Ehsaas Development Program.

ATM machines

ATM machines are also being installed at Ehsas Development Centers to facilitate the delivery of cash development benefits to the customers.

Khyber Tribal Development Center

Preparations for the Khyber Tribal Development Center are in the final stages of completion under the Early Stunt Prevention Sense Development Program.
