Ehsaas Program Payment Center at Nurpur Shahan had a surprise visit by the Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Poverty Alleviation and Social Security Dr Sania Nishtar disguised in a Burqa.
According to Dr Nishtar the purpose of the surprise visit was to assess the arrangements at the Ehsaas Emergency Program Payment Center that began payments to Category 3 beneficiaries today.
Dr Sania Nishtar is working hard to make sure that payments are carried out swiftly an the main reason she mentioned for the surprise visit was to make sure that quality of service is being maintained, there is transparency in payments and centers are following standard operating procedures issued by the government for COVID-19.
Recently the United States gave $5 million to the Ehsas Program to provide extra support to over 70,000 families so they can buy food and items of basic necessity.

Other measures being taken to speed up the process for Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program include mobile registration vehicles that have been launched by NADRA to fast track the verification process.
