The Government of Pakistan has announced a public holiday on the occasion of Eid Milad un Nabi (12 Rabi ul Awal 1443 AH) throughout the country.
“It is notified for general information that Tuesday, October 19, 2021, shall be a public holiday on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (12th Rabi ul Awwal 1443 AH) throughout the country.” said the notification issued by the Cabinet Division.
It is pertinent to mention that Sindh Government has already announced a public holiday across the province on Eid Milad un Nabi (12 Rabi ul Awal).
Furthermore, the Government of Sindh has banned pillion riding across the province in order to maintain security on Eid Milad un Nabi. However, the notification mentioned that the ban won’t apply to women, children below the age of 12 years, senior citizens, personnel of law enforcement agencies/security agencies in uniform, employees of essential services, and journalists subject to showing their press card/service card.

The moon for the holy month of Rabi ul Awal, which is the third month in the Islamic calendar, was sighted on 7 October 2021. Muslims around the world celebrate the birth of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), which is known locally as Eid Milad un Nabi, on the 12th of Rabi ul Awal.
