KARACHI: Eid ul Azha 2020 will be celebrated on August 1, 2020 according to the Chairman Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman after the committee announced that the Zilhaj moon was not sighted.
The Ruet-e-Hilal Committee convened in Karachi under Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman and the zonal committees met at their respective headquarters to determine the date for Eid ul Azha 2020.
However, Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry had earlier said that the Zilhaj moon will be sighted on 21 July with the help of binoculars and in some areas with the naked eye.
Although Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman confirmed that the Zilhaj moon was not sighted announcing that Eid ul Azha 2020 will be celebrated on August 1 across Pakistan.
Eid ul Azha in Saudi Arabia
The Government of Saudi Arabia announced that Eid ul Adha will be celebrated in on 31 July.
Furthermore, Hajj 2020 will take place on 29 July 2020 according to the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.
