The Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Mufti Muneeb Ur Rehman has announced that Eid Ul Fitr 2020 in Pakistan will be celebrated tomorrow on 24 May after the Shawwal moon was sighted.
The meeting of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee was held in Karachi chaired by Mufti Muneeb Ur Rehman while zonal committees met at their respective headquarters for moon sighting to announce Eid Ul Fitr 2020 in Pakistan.
The decision comes after a long session of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee when authentic testimonies were received from Chaman and Pasni in Balochistan according to Mufti Muneeb.
There were disputes between the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee and Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry who already said that the moon will be sighted in Pakistan today and Eid Ul Fitr will be celebrated tomorrow.
However Mufti Muneeb Ur Rehman demanded that the Prime Minister Imran Khan must take action and stop Fawad Chaudhry from interference as he has no authority in the matter.
This time Pakistan will celebrate Eid Ul Ftir 2020 along with Saudi Arabia and the UAE where Eid was announced on Sunday as well.
