The Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council (RHRC) has announced that Eid-ul-Fitr 2023 is expected to fall on 22 April 2023 in Pakistan.
According to the details, the Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council’s Secretary General, Khalid Aijaz, has ruled out the possibility of the Shawwal moon sighting on April 20.
The official told a local media channel that Ramadan will complete 30 days this year, which means that Eid-ul-Fitr will fall on April 22, 2023.
He said that it will be difficult to sight the new crescent on April 20 as it will be born on 9.13 am that day and its age at the time of sighting will only be 10 hours.
The official added that for a crescent to be sighted, the duration needs to be more than 19 hours so it will be impossible to sight the moon on April 20 even if the sky is clear.
He said that any testimony received on April 20 will be false as the month of Ramadan will last for 30 days this year and Eid-ul-Fitr 2023 will fall on April 22, 2023.
However, the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee (RHC) will meet on April 20 for the sighting of the Shawwal moon.
