The Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry says that Eid Ul Fitr in Pakistan will be celebrated on Sunday as the Shawwal moon can be sighted today.
According to the Federal Minister during a press conference in Islamabad, the Shawwal moon which was born on 22 May 2020 at 10:30pm will be visible tonight between 7:36pm and 8:15pm.
However, there are disagreements between Fawad Chaudhry and the Reut-e-Hilal Committee as Minister for Religious Affairs Pir Noorul Haq Qadri said that the final decision on when Eid Ul Fitr is to be celebrated in Pakistan lies with the committee.

According to the religious minister:
Our beliefs and religious laws call for a visual sighting of the moon and there is no bar for technology being used for that process
A nominee of the Ministry of Science and Technology has already been included in the committee. A decision will be taken by the Ulema only,
Not just that but Noorul Haq Qadri went as far as to say that Fawad Chaudhry was interfering needlessly in the matter.
Eid Ul Fitr is being celebrated around the world on Sunday and even Saudi Arabia and the UAE have announced the end of Ramazn on 23 May and the first day of Eid on 24 May 2020.
