The Power Division has hiked the electricity tariff for K-Electric consumers by a whopping Rs. 4.45 per unit following National Power Regulatory Authority’s (NEPRA) decision on Friday.
The latest hike in the power tariff comes as the first quarterly adjustment of the previous fiscal year and the additional payments will be received from K-Electric consumers in October and November.
The electricity tariff was increased from Rs. 1.49 to Rs. 4.45 per unit.
It is pertinent to mention that NEPRA had also approved a hike of Rs. 1.71 per unit for power consumers on Thursday.
This increase in electricity tariff was made in terms of Fuel Adjustment Charges (FAC) for the month of August.
Furthermore, the notification stated that hike in the tariff would be applied to bills of October. Meanwhile, this hike is not applicable to Lifeline or K-Electric consumers.
Moreover, NEPRA had also increased the power tariff by Rs. 3.28 per unit on October 3 as part of the quarterly adjustment.
