Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) candidate Raja Basharat has not boycotted the General Elections 2024, which are all set for tomorrow despite a deepfake video of the politician is making rounds on different social media platforms like Facebook, TikTok, and WhatsApp.
In the deepfake video, Raja Basharat can be seen criticizing the police and Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for not allowing him to campaign for the elections and accusing the authorities of arresting PTI workers from this constituency (NA-55) for opening any office.
However, Raja Basharat has made a video clarifying that he is not boycotting the General Elections 2024 and the video going viral on social media is actually a deepfake, However, he did accuse his opponents for spreading such misinformation ahead of the elections.
