There are numerous reports on social media by people who have fallen victim to fake currency notes at different locations across Pakistan. According to the details, the fake banknotes in circulation are well made and not easily distinguishable by the average person.
The individuals behind these fake currency notes are highly skilled and involved in printing of Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 5,000 banknote, which are extremely difficult to be traced due to their high-quality printing and quality.
In related incidents, the Lahore police has arrested a gang of four, who were allegedly involved in circulation of these fake currency notes in Lahore. In addition, the Ghalib Market Police Station, who made the arrest, recovered fake banknotes worth millions.
These individuals are reportedly part of the printing sector involved in production of counterfeit currency notes across the country.
Furthermore, a similar arrest was made by Karachi Police in November 2022 from Gulistan-e-Johar for spreading fake currency notes in the local market. These individuals were reportedly involved in the circulation of fake US and Pakistan currency in the local markets.
