The federal government of Pakistan will present the budget for the financial year 2024-25 in the National Assembly on June 7, 2024 (Friday). The budget session will start on June 6 (Thursday), and the Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, will present the budget on June 7.
After the budget is presented, the Speaker of the National Assembly will adjourn the House for two days. The National Assembly will reconvene on Monday to begin discussions on the budget. These discussions will continue until the end of June, culminating in the approval of the Budget-2024-25.
Simultaneously, the budget will be laid before the Senate on the same day it is presented in the National Assembly. The Senate will have 14 days to discuss the budget and make recommendations. According to rule 130 of the Rule of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Senate 2012, the Senate can make recommendations to the National Assembly within this 14-day period.
