The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police has registered a First Information Report (FIR) against unidentified individuals for deliberately setting the fire started in the food court of the Centaurus Mall in Islamabad.
According to the details, the First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against unidentified individuals under Section 436 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) for deliberately setting the shopping mall and its residential complex on fire.
Meanwhile, the Centaurus Mall affected tower has been closed and District Administrator has requested the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to investigate the building structure after the fire incident.
Deputy Commissioner ICT has formed a seven-member fact-finding committee to investigate the fire incident at Centaurus Mall and present its findings in three days.
The committee will be led by Additional District Magistrate ICT. It also comprises of Assistant Commissioner Industrial Area ICT, District Emergency Officer Rawalpindi, Director BCS CDA, Direct EM CDA, Additional Director EM CDA, and one co-opted member.
It is pertinent to mention that Centaurus Mall was timely evacuated and there were no casualities.
