Fly Jinnah, a key player in Pakistan’s aviation sector since November 2022, has achieved a significant milestone by obtaining clearance from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to operate CAT III approaches, arrivals, and departures. This certification uniquely positions Fly Jinnah as the sole domestic airline in Pakistan with CAT III status across its entire fleet and pilot roster. CAT III status enables airlines to operate seamlessly in extremely low visibility conditions, particularly beneficial during foggy weather between major cities.
This development increases the Fly Jinnah’s ability to operate under the difficult weather conditions, ensuring greater reliability for the passengers. The CAT III designation of the Instrument Landing System (ILS), in particular, plays a very vital role to ensure a secure landing procedure under the conditions of poor visibility.
After the approval of international operations by the federal cabinet, Fly Jinnah is going to connect with many destinations like Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Iraq, Malaysia, Oman, Qatar , Saudi Arabia , Thailand , Turkiye and UAE. Further, the carrier has recently claimed a leading position in the Civil Aviation Authority’s domestic flight punctuality league table and achieved an 87.93% on-time departure rate. This puts Fly Jinnah above its rivals like Air Sial, Air Blue and also Serene Airlines.
