Travel Advisory : Fog Updates – 2 January 2023

Moderate to Dense fog has covered some parts of Punjab (2 January 2023), which has resulted in the closure of motorways and highways due to low visibility for up to a few hundred kilometers. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) along with the National Highway and Motorway Police (NHMP) are constantly providing live fog updates on motorways and highways through their official social media and their websites.

Fog Conditions on Motorways

Here is the latest fog conditions on different motorways in plain areas of the country (updated 08:00 AM).

Peshawar – Islamabad (Motorway M1)

Islamabad – Lahore (Motorway M2)

Lahore – Abdul Hakim (Motorway M3)

Sialkot – Lahore (Motorway M11)

Pindi Bhattian – Faisalabad – Multan (Motorway M4)

Multan – Sukkur (Motorway M5)

Important Note:

• Fog – Visibility less than 1 KM
• Shallow Fog – Visibility 201-999 meters
• Moderate Fog – Visibility 51 – 200 Meters
• Dense Fog – Visibility less than 50 meters
