In a disturbing incident, a foreign woman was robbed by two fake police officers in the F-6 Supermarket area of Islamabad’s diplomatic enclave.
According to the details, the incident occurred when the woman, whose identity has not been revealed, was stopped by the two men who claimed to be conducting a routine check. Despite not wearing police uniforms, they told the foreign national that they were police officers and asked to inspect her belongings.
During the inspection, the men stole £500 and other valuables from the woman.
The Kohsar Police Station was notified immediately, and officers arrived at the scene shortly after the robbery. An investigation has been launched to find and arrest the thieves and recover the stolen items.
This incident has raised concerns about the safety of foreign nationals in Islamabad, especially in the diplomatic enclave, which is supposed to be a secure area. Authorities are now facing pressure to improve security measures to prevent such incidents.
A spokesperson for the Kohsar Police Station stated that the matter is being taken very seriously. He added that an investigation is underway and the suspects will be apprehended soon.
In response to the robbery, local authorities have advised residents and foreign nationals to remain alert and report any suspicious activities to the police immediately. They also reminded the public that real police officers will always wear uniforms and provide proper identification when asked.
