Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and former interior minister Rehman Malik has died on Wednesday at the age of 70 after falling critically ill due to complications from coronavirus. The news of his passing was confirmed by his spokesperson Riaz Ali Turi on Twitter.
“Deeply devastated to say that Former Interior Minister, PPP’ senior leader Abdul Rehman Malik passed away.” he tweeted. “Sorrow, pain and grief are indescribable. All are requested to pray for his soul.”

According to the details, Rehman Malik had been hospitalized earlier this month after getting getting diagnosed with COVID-19 and later shifted to the intensive care unit (ICU) on February 1 when his condition deteriorated further due to complications from the coroanvirus.
He is survived by his widow and two sons.
Rehman Malik was a senator for the PPP and he served as the interior minister for the country from 2008 to 2013.
