At a press conference in Islamabad today, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health (SAPM) Dr Zafar Mirza said that four Pakistani students have been diagnosed with the coronavirus in China.
Dr Zafar Mirza said:
Four students have been confirmed to have the coronavirus. Their condition is better now,
He further added:
The government will take good care of the students who have contracted the virus,
Pakistani officials in China are in constant touch with all the students,
However the Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health refused to disclose the names of the affected Pakistani students affected by coronavirus with the media at this time.
There are currently 500 students studying in different universities in the city of Wuhan where the virus outbreak started.
The Pakistani students in China earlier appealed to the Pakistani government to help and evacuate them from China.
SAPM said that the condition of the affected students had improved and that they were now safe.
There have currently been no confirmed cases of coronavirus in Pakistan yet although there were reports of cases in Multan but they were later told to be incorrect by Dr Zafar Mirza.

The new strain of coronavirus 2019-nCOV has infected hundreds of people around the world and there have been responsible for 132 deaths so far.
