KARACHI: Everyone should brace themselves as gas shortage will double during winter especially in Sindh according to the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC).
According to the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC), there is an imminent gas shortage for Sindh in the coming winter months as supply from five fields have come to a halt.

The five fields include Zargoun, Sinjhoro, Kunar Pasaki, Sujawal and Nurbagla that have stoppped supplying gas causing a shortage of 150 million metric cubic feet per day (mmcfd) which is expected to get worse.
The state-run gas distribution company has warned the government of the shortage and advised to arrange alternate supplies through sources such as import or other means as appropriate.
Furthermore, the Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) has also warned against a gas shortage stating that supply to consumers will only be provded during cooking hours.
SNGPL also advised consumers to use gas wisely and shift to electrical heating instead of the traditional gas powered heaters and use solar or instant geysers.
The Prime Minister has also announced that the country will be facing a severe gas shortage this winter which is likely to get worse next year.
The reason behind this shortage is the incompetency of the previous governments similar to other problems being faced by the country according to Prime Minister Imran Khan.
