Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) on Tuesday announced that gas supply to consumers will remain suspended on October 5 (Thursday) in various Islamabad sectors, including F-5, F-6, F-7, F-8, G-5, G-6, G-7, and G-8.
The SNGPL spokesperson said that gas supply to various sectors in Islamabad would remain suspended on Thursday (5 October 2023) due to necessary work on gas pipelines at Sector F-8, which will help improve the gas system.
The spokesperson requested consumers to make alternate arrangements for tomorrow and urged them to keep off all gas-powered appliances and take special precautions during the suspension period.
Meanwhile, the caretaker Government is mulling to increase the gas tariff by 45 percent in line with the demand of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The global lender has demanded to generate Rs. 435 billion of revenue by increasing the gas rates and it is not prepared to show any flexibility.
