A 22-year-old girl was killed during a police encounter with dacoits after she was hit by a bullet at Wahdat Colony in Lahore according to a report by local sources.
According to the details, Dolphin Force intercepted three muggers who were arrested after exchange of fire but unfortunately a 22-year-old girl was killed as a result of the cross fire during the police encounter.
The victim was identified as 22-year-old Fatima who was a student of University of Punjab but is still unclear whether she was killed by a bullet shot by the dacoits or Dolphin Force officers.
According to eye-witnesses, the 22-year-old girl named Fatima was taken to the hospital in a auto rickshaw where she succumbed to her injuries.
The three muggers identified as Hasan, Arshad and Faisal were reportedly involved in multiple crimes but their capture came at the cost of the life an innocent bystander.
Inspector General (IG) of Police Inam Ghani also took notice of the incident and has sought a detailed report on the matter. The investigation is underway.
Apart from being a student at Punjab University, the 22-year-old girl was working at a call center she joined just 10 days prior to this incident according to her father who talked to local media.
