Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz has announced free electricity for households using up to 100 units of power in a month in order to provide relief to the poor segment of society.
Addressing a press conference in Lahore, the Chief Minister said that Punjab Government will provide free electricity to those consumers who use up to 100 units of power in a month.
The Provincial Government has set aside Rs. 100 billion for the relief programme, which is expected to benefit nine million households throughout the province.
Furthermore, he announced that households who have consumed less than 100 units in the last six months will have their electricity bills waived off, adding that free solar plates will be given to deserving people as well.
It is pertinent to mention that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has also given a gift to entire province by lifting the restriction on market timings across the province for Eid shopping.
“Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz’s big Eid gift for the people and business community,” said the Tweet announcing the decision. “The ban on closing markets and bazaars across Punjab till 9 pm has been lifted.” it added.
