The Federal Government is currently considering a proposal to end the Saturday holiday. A final decision will be taken in the coming days after going through all recommendations requested by the Government regarding the holiday schedule.
Currently, the federal government employees enjoy two-day weekend with both Saturday and Sunday off. However, if the proposal is accepted and comes into effect, Saturday will no longer be a holiday for Government employees.
At the moment, the government departments enjoy a two-day weekend off and the change is expected to raise a lot of criticism and it will be opposed by the public sector employees. The Government will consider all aspects of the implementing the decision before making a final decision.
