ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to formulate the first-ever Drone Regulatory Authority according to the Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry.

The premier was given a detailed briefing regarding the peaceful and research-based use of drone technology in various fields, including remote-control surveillance use.
Prime Minister Imran Khan directed the Federal Minister to constitute a committee to formulate the drone policy and stated the technology would be an effective tool for agriculture, urban planning, security as well as law and order.
The committee will present the draft for the Drone Regulatory Authority Act to the Prime Minister within a month.
Federal Minister Fawad Chaudhry took to Twitter after the meeting stating that Prime Minister Imran Khan had given approved of the first ever Drone Policy of Pakistan.
“The new policy will allow Drone production and specially agriculture Drone manufacturing industry will get huge boost, Import of sophisticated drones will also be allowed,” said the federal minister.
