It is pertinent to mention that senior journalist Arshad Sharif was shot dead in Kenya’s capital of Nairobi by Kenyan authorities, who are terming the incident as a case of “mistaken identity.”
According to Kenyan authorities, Arshad Sharif and his driver had allegedly breached a roadblock set up by the police along the route, where there was a call for police to intercept a car similar to the one being used by the Pakistani journalist following a carjacking incident, where a child was taken hostage.
Kenyan Police says that this was followed by a brief chase and shooting that left the Pakistani journalist dead and the driver of the vehicle injured as the result of the car rolling over.
Furthermore, the body of Arshad Sharif has arrived in Pakistan.
