The Federal Government has increased the prices of cooking oil and ghee being sold at Utility Stores across the country. According to the details, the prices of cooking oil and ghee have gone up significantly, while a notification has also been issued in this regard.
The notification states the price of ghee in Pakistan has been increased by Rs. 208 per kg, which will now be sold at Rs. 555 per kg at Utility Stores. Meanwhile, the price of cooking oil in Pakistan has been raised by Rs. 213 per litre, bringing the new rate at Rs. 605 per litre.
Furthermore, the new prices of these commodities will be applicable from 1st June 2022 across the country.

It is pertinent to mention that prices of other commodities have also been increased at Utility Stores in Pakistan. According to the details, the price of tea from various brands have gone up by Rs. 45 to Rs. 1,099 per kg, while one and a half litre bottle of Rooh Afza has gone up from Rs. 241 to Rs. 276.
More inflation is expected across the country as the government has increased prices of petroleum products as well as increased the electricity tariff in order to restore the International Monetary Fund (IMF) loan programme, which will directly impact prices of basic commodities and put more pressure on the already burdened population.
