The Government of Pakistan has prepared a special package for the healthcare workers on the frontline of the coronavirus pandemic according to Dr Zafar Mirza at a press conference earlier today.
Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Dr Zafar Mirza payed tribute to these healthcare workers on the frontline saying that no package can match up to the sacrifices they are making for the country and their patients.
After consultation with experts and medical association, a package has been drawn up for these healthcare workers which offers them financial incentives and security apart from a lot of other benefits.

The healthcare workers on the frontline will be given priority should they become infected and need medical assistance and this extends to their families as well with the government taking care of all costs.
Furthermore, the healthcare workers who have lost their lives fighting the pandemic will be given compensation in the form of the Shuhada Package introduced by the Government.
SAPM Health further added that training will be provided to medical and healthcare workers adding that China will be helping with the training of these professionals.
Coronavirus cases in Pakistan have surged past 120,000 while the number of deaths have topped 2,500 and the daily number of cases seems to be rising every single day.
Earlier WHO recommended a two weeks lockdown to get a handle on the situation but the Federal Government doesn’t agree and thinks it is not the answer instead the government is urging the people to strictly follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by the government.
