The petrol price in Pakistan has reached a record high in the history of the country after the government announced a hike of Rs. 1, taking the rate to Rs. 137.79 per liter. However, the government now plans to provide cheap petrol for motorcycle, rickshaws, and public transport in order to provide relief to lower and middle class citizens in the country.
The decision was made during a meeting of the core committee of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday. The meeting discussed providing cheap petrol to owners of motorcycle and rickshaws but it yet to be determined how the plan will be implemented, said Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry while speaking to Dawn News.
According to the details, the Prime Minister will chair another meeting to discuss ways on “how to give relief to inflation-hit people” on Thursday (today) and finalize the plan for supplying petrol at subsidized rates to bike and rickshaw owners in order to provide relief to the masses.
