Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that a historic Kissan Package will be unveiled next week for the development of the agriculture sector, which is the backbone of the national economy, and already suffered huge losses due to the recent flooding across the country.
The premier held several meetings with various delegations of farmers, which were attended by Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan, Minister for National Food Security Tariq Bashir Cheema, Member of the Provincial Assembly (Punjab) Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan and senior officials concerned with the matter.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed the committee of relevant ministers to present actionable recommendations for the redressal of farmers’ problems, in collaboration with their representative at the earliest. He added that all possible relief for the development of the agriculture sector will be provided and ensured the welfare of farmers in the light of the committee’s recommendations and keeping in view the economic situation of the country.
In this regard, the Prime Minister announced that an historic Kissan Package will be unveiled during the Kissan Conference that is going to be held next week.
The premier reminded farmers of the steps he had taken for the development of agriculture sector and welfare of Kissan brothers during this tenure as Punjab Chief Minister by protecting the interest of farmers and providing them with subsidies for the payment of electricity bills, provision of fertilizers and procurement of agriculture tools.
