KARACHI: The Government of Sindh, Finance Department issued a notification on Tuesday to allow Health Risk Allowance (One Basic Pay) to the Health Personnel who are performing duties related to COVID-19.
According to the notification, Health Personnel who are performing duties related to COVID-19 patients in the health institutions/ Laboratories and the Post Graduates PG/ House Job Officers will be paid initial basic pay of BPS-18/17 respectively with effect from March 2020, till subsiding of Coronavirus pandemic. Eligible personnel shall be determined according to the following criteria:-
A) From attendance register and notified rota order and
B) Concerned Medical Superintendent / Head of Department shall cerify such list(s).

The Decision came after Health Minister, Dr Azra Pechuho forwarded the summary to the Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, recommending that that addition to the payment of the Health Risk allowance to a health professional in the management of COVID-19.
Meanwhile, The Doctors and Paramedics staff working for private hospital are complaining about salaries are not being paid on time.
