The early morning phase gives respite to Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and the majority of the cities and towns along GT Road, including Punjab’s capital, Lahore.
The temperature was unpleasant, and there was no wind. However, early morning showers provided comfort to locals who were weary by the excessive heat. However, the rain caused numerous power feeders to trip, resulting in outages.
Mall Road, Anarkali Bazaar, Awan Town, Qartaba Chowk, Waris Road, Lawrence Road, Canal Road, Harbanspura, and Islampura were among the Lahore neighborhoods hit by the deluge.
Other Punjab cities, including Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Jhelum, Muridke, Attock, Wazirabad, Kamoke, and Shorkot, saw heavy rainfall as black clouds hovered overhead. Murree Hill Station had a welcome change of weather, with high gusts and rain.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) had earlier issued a warning about potential flash flooding in the Narowal and Sialkot districts. The NDMA cautioned that rain in the upper reaches of Jammu could lead to flooding in the Narowal and Sialkot rivers over the next three days.
Residents are advised to stay informed about weather updates and take necessary precautions during this monsoon season.
