The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued orders for the removal of Inspector General (IG) Islamabad Akbar Nasir Khan and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon due to complains lodged by different political parties alleging irregularities.
The ECP convened a meeting to address the concerns of political parties, which lead to the removal of the IG and DC Islamabad from their respective posts. Shortly after, the Establishment Division gave confirmation that IG Islamabad Akbar Nasir Khan and DC Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon have been relieved of their duties.
Meanwhile, Khurram Agha, Secretary of the Caretaker Prime Minister, has penned a letter ot the Secretary Establishment Division, and sought for the panel of officers to fill the positions of IG Islamabad and DC Islamabad.
