Inspector General (IG) Islamabad Police replaced

The Federal Government appointed Qazi Jamil-Ur-Rehman as New Inspector General (IG) Islamabad Police who replaced Amir Zulfiqar khan on Wednesday, INCPak reported.

After the recent incident of Usama Satti messed the reputation of Islamabad Police front of the citizens, Protestors demanded to bring reforms in Islamabad Police.

Citing the situation, Federal Government replaced the IG Islamabad Police

Earlier this morning, IG Police Amir Zulfiqar express his displeasure over the recent crime incidents in the capital city, meanwhile The establishment division issued the notification to appoint and transfer of the new IG Islamabad Police with immediate effect.

Qazi Jamil Ur Rehman, BS-20 Officer of Police Service of Pakistan presently serving Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is transferred and posted as Inspector General, Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police, under interior Division, in his own pay and scale, with immediate effect until further orders. – Notification States.

About the incident

Usama Satti was traveling home late last night when he was asked to stop by Anti-Terrorism Force personnel and his vehicle was shot multiple times when he failed to comply.

The five CTD officers were arrested and a First Information Report (FIR) was registered under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC)

The joint investigation team (JIT) has started their probe into the murder of 22-year-old Usama Satti, who was killed in an alleged police encounter on Saturday.

The JIT is looking into the cellphone records of the victim as well as details of the wireless call informing the accused policemen of the robbery incident in the area.

Furthermore, the investigative team has sent the spent bullet casings for forensics and a report would be received by Friday revealing more details into the incident.

Moreover, the JIT also recorded statements of the first responders to the scene. The team is also looking into the footages of the safe city cameras to get a clear picture about what went down on the highway on the night of the incident.
