Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Imran Khan, has announced to start his long march to Islamabad from Lahore’s Liberty Chowk on Friday.
The announcement was made by PTI Chairman, Imran Khan, while he was holding a press conference at the Chief Minister’s House in Lahore, during which he added that PTI’s long march will start from Liberty Chowk in Lahore and head towards Islamabad from GT Road.
Imran Khan said that this PTI long march to Islamabad was being done for the ‘real freedom’ of the country, and the rally has nothing to do with politics. “This Jihad will determine the direction of the country.” he added.
He clarified that there was no timeframe for the conclusion of the upcoming long march, which is going to be the largest-ever march in the history of the country.
Imran Khan said that PTI has done three long marches have been done against his government, including two by JUI-F Chief, Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman, and one by PTI Co-Chairperson, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, while another march had fizzled out by Maryam Nawaz near Gujar Khan.
He added that media in the country was facing the most severe form of oppression not seen even in the worst countries as he paid tribute to the senior journalist and anchorperson, Arshad Sharif, who was brutally killed in Kenya.
