Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and Former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, has announced that his party will resign from all the assemblies. “We will not be part of this country’s political system.” he said as he addressed the party workers and supporters during today’s rally in Rawalpindi.
Imran Khan added that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had decided not to go to Islamabad in order to avert any destruction of chaos. “I would announce the date of resignations after consulting chief ministers and the parliamentary party.” he told all party workers and supporters present at the rally.
It should be noted that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is in power in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).
Imran Khan urged all party workers and supporters to free themselves from the fear of death it they wanted to live freely. He added that everyone advised him against traveling to Islamabad with his injured leg and threats to his life. However, the close encounter with death (after a failed assassination attempt) had made his faith stronger.
He praised the nation for coming out in such large numbers. “Many Prime Ministers come and go but public never came out in such a large number like they gathered here for me.” he told everyone. “There would be no difference between animals and humans if people of the country accepted the rulers who came to power through NRO.” he added.
Imran Khan said that overseas Pakistani supported him because they were aware of the importance of the rule of law. “Pakistan is in a difficult situation today due to the absence of rule of law” he added. The former premier went on the criticize the Sharif and Zardari families for weakening Pakistan’s institutions in a bid to protect their “looted wealth.”
Talking about PTI’s performance, he said that his government had successfully revived the country’s economy during the COVID-19 pandemic and introduced many successful initiatives like the health card. He added that his party was the first to realize the dangers of climate change as well. “My government had planted trees under the Billion Tree Tsunami and Ten Billion Tree Tsunami programmes to tackle climate change,” he stated.
