Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Imran Khan, held a press conference in Peshawar a day before the party’s Haqeeqi Azadi March towards Islamabad on 25 May 2022 (Wednesday) to demand early election by the coalition government.
During the press conference, Imran Khan said that he will lead the biggest procession in the history of Pakistan tomorrow (Wednesday). He added that ‘cabinet of criminals’ have decided to stop their Haqeeqi Azadi March, while the opposition has protested several times during PTI’s tenure without any hurdles.
Furthermore, he condemned the police entering the houses of PTI workers last night, including a retired army major. He also referred to a video that went viral on social media showing a girl in tears alongside her mother as they told media how the police harassed them last night.
Despite several announcements of a peaceful march towards Islamabad, the coalition government has started crackdowns against PTI workers. Imran Khan said that he has never violated the rule of law during his political career of 26 years.
Imran Khan reiterated that he will lead the Haqeeqi Azadi March towards Islamabad from Peshawar tomorrow along with a massive crowd and asked the public to be prepared. “No one can stop the Tsunami of masses.” he added.
The Former Prime Minister also asked how Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz is giving orders to bureaucracy after being de-seated by the Election Commission Pakistan (ECP) for not having the majority vote.
Furthermore, he warned authorities of action against every unlawful order they follow. He also added that the ‘neutrals’ will be responsible of any chaos and destruction in the country.
