NEW DELHI: Indian Official Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Raveesh Kumar slams Pakistan for spreading fake news about India ready for talks with Pakistan.
Prime Minister Imran Khan had tweeted a congratulatory message to PM Modi.

In a response PM Modi had tweeted

I warmly express my gratitude for your good wishes. I have always given primacy to peace and development in our region.
The External Affair Ministry spokesperson Ranveesh Kumar addressing the media said the letter from PM Modi had no mention of talks with Pakistan.

He also said the Pakistan media is circulating fake news.
He said PM Modi received many congratulatory messages from foreign leaders. It is diplomatic protocol to respond when ever some one writes to you.
He also said the letter sent to PM Imran Khan was just part of keeping the protocol.
He said Modi had written
“We want normal and cooperative relations” and for that Pakistan needs to “create an atmosphere which is free of terror and violence”.
Replying to a question about news spreading in Pakistan media, he termed it as fake news peddling and distortion.
He also said in order to have talks Pakistan need to convince India that Pakistan is taking action against terror.
He maintained that as a diplomatic protocol a letter was written but it was not mentioned that India is ready for talks.
He also said Pakistan has the habit of paddling fake news.
