ISLAMABAD: The International Islamic University Islamabad has been sealed after COVID-19 cases emerged from the educational institute according to the District Health Office (DHO).
“Refer to the subject cited above it is observed that twelve cases of COVID-19 were reported from different departments of International Islamic University of Islamabad.” the notification reads.
“It is hereby advised to immediately close down the university premises for a period till further intimation by the office of the undersigned and conduct thorough disinfection activities as per the guidelines issued by Ministry of National Health Services Regulation & Coordination attached herewith. Cases residing in the hostel must be isolated till recovery and their contacts must be quarantined in a separate isolation area.” added the notification.
“Furthermore, COVID-19 testing of all the exposed staff/student must be performed and adherence to SOP’s must be strictly ensure. All the closed contacts of the cases must be quarantined for a period of 14 days.” the notification states.

District Health Office (DHO) also confirmed that 5 employees of the of the International Islamic University Islamabad have tested positive for COVID-19 along with 20 students.
