Internet services are suspended in parts of Islamabad due to the ongoing situation as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman and Former Prime Minister, Imran Khan, reaches the judicial complex for his court hearing.
According to the details, the internet services are currently suspended at Srinagar Highway, Judicial Complex and all surrounding areas due to the ongoing situation and large number of PTI workers present in the area.
According to sources, the internet services have been suspended in parts of Islamabad as per instructions of the Federal Government until further notice. Earlier, the internet services were suspended in Islamabad Sector G-11, F-8 Markaz and surrounding areas. However, the services were restored in these areas around 12.00 pm.
It is pertinent to mention that internet suspension in these areas is affected both, mobile internet (SIM data) and home internet services like broadband, cable, or fiber internet. Currently, the suspension is affecting only mobile internet service.
However, mobile phone services are still operational and people are able to make and receive phone calls.
Right now, the Islamabad Police has blocked off Srinagar Highway to allow Imran Khan’s convoy to reach the judicial complex and requested PTI workers to stay clear of the area. However, the clash between PTI supporters and police has resulted in shelling by authorities.
