The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has suspended internet services in Lahore on the directives of the Punjab Home Department. The internet services in Lahore have been suspended in response to the protest organized by the banned Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP) supporters.
In response to the letter directives issued by the Punjab Home Department, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has suspended internet services in Samanabad, Sheerakot, Nawankot, Gulshan-e-Ravi, Sabzazar, and Iqbal Town.
The suspension of the internet service in these areas of Lahore has affected cellular networks as well as fixed-line DSL services.
According to the details, these services will remain suspended until further notice and request of reopening is submitted by the Punjab Home Department.
It is pertinent to mention Tehreek-e-Labaik (TLP) supporters have organized a sit-in at Yateem Khana Chowk of Lahore on Tuesday night to protest the arrest of their leader Saad Hussain Rizvi.
