The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has confirmed that internet services in the country have been restored and operational as per “normal routine” after the faults in the international submarine cables that resulted in degraded speeds have been fixed.
“Faults in the terrestrial segment of SEAMEWE-5 were repaired at 2 AM PST.” the PTA said on Twitter. “Internet services are operational as per normal routine,” the regulator added.

It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan suffered degraded internet speeds after faults developed in multiple international submarine cables (MENA, AAE-1, SMW5 & EIG) on Tuesday. According to the details, the faults developed in near Egypt and resulted in connectivity issues for several users on different ISPs.
