Federal Minister For Finance and Revenue, Senator Ishaq Dar, has taken notice of “illegal and unwarranted” leakage of Chief of Army Staff (CAOS) General Qamar Bajwa’s family members, announced the Finance Ministry on Twitter.
“This is clearly violative of the complete confidentiality of tax information that the Law provides,” the statement added. “In view of this serious lapse on the part of the to-date unknown functionaries, the Finance Minister has directed the SAPM on Revenue, Mr. Tariq Pasha to personally lead an immediate investigation into the violation of tax law and breach of FBR data.” it added.

He also ordered that a report be submitted on the matter within 24 hours. “They disclosed FBR data concerning tax returns, which is against the regulations.” Dar stated.
It is pertinent to mention that FactFocus, a Pakistan-based digital media news organization working on data-based investigative news stories, released a report regarding the alleged tax records of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Bajwa’s family that included the value of assets under possession by the Army Chief and his close family members.
