The government, and the Capital Development Authority (CDA) are preparing to block major entry and exit points in Islamabad ahead of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) protest scheduled for November 24, 2024.
Sources confirm that key routes, including Zero Point, Islamabad Expressway, the Red Zone, 26 Number, and the M1 and M2 Motorway tolls, will be sealed with containers starting the night of November 23, 2024.
PTI’s protest, promoted under the slogan “Now or Never,” aims to pressure the government to release its founder, Imran Khan, currently held in Adiala Jail.
Residents should expect possible internet shutdowns and road closures, which may disrupt daily life. Notifications are also expected in the coming days regarding school and college closures, suspension of Metro services, and further restrictions.
To prepare, plan your week in advance, keep vehicles fueled, and ensure you have sufficient cash in your pockets.
