ISLAMABAD: Dualized Ataturk Avenue from Khyaban-e-Shorwardy to NADRA chowk would be opened for traffic within next few days. Concerned formations have been tasked for immediate completion of prime coat and carpeting on the Avenue.
In this context, drainage system and other allied work on the avenue has been completed while compaction work is at final stages. Similarly, base and sub-base work on the portion from Fazal-e-Haq Raod to NADRA Chowk is also in progress which is also being completed at fast pace.
Project of dualization of Ataturk Avenue was started more than three (03) years back, to address traffic congestion problems, however, due to different issues progress on the project remained slow. Cognizing the importance of the project, the incumbent management, few months earlier decided to take up early completion of the project. In this connection, after removing all impediments and ensuring effective supervision, construction work was geared up which is now at final stages.

Meanwhile, Capital Development Authority (CDA) has sealed plots No.03, 04, 05 and 06 in sector I-11/4 over nonconforming use. The said action was taken by the Building Control Section – I (BCS-I) with the assistance of ICT and concerned formation.
The subject plots were allotted for warehouse, however, different business including Habib Tarpal, Aftab Motors, Shinwari Hotels, paint shop and juice store were being operated which was the violation of CDA Building By-laws. These four plots were allotted Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) for establishment of warehouse, however, due to commercial activities in the said plots Building Control Section (BCS) issued notices to remove violations within 15 days. After expiry of deadline, staff of BCS has sealed the four plots.
Moreover, BCS Directorate also sealed an office of Truck stand illegally established in class – III shopping centre of Sector I-10/1. This truck stand was illegally established on public parking which is not only violation of rules but also affect the general public. Earlier BCS-I has issued notices and after expiry of deadline BCS Directorate sealed the premises of truck stand offices.
